Privacy policy

Little Corner Pictures respects your privacy and complies with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 VIC in respect of the collection, storage, use, disclosure, security and disposal of your personal information.

The Privacy Act 1988, defines personal information as:

‘information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

a. whether the information or opinion is true or not; and

b. whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.’

Below is how Little Corner Pictures handles personal information:

Collection

1. We will inform you when we are collecting your personal information and how we handle the information collected. We will give you the reason why we are collecting your personal information, and what your personal information will be used for, and how you can access and amend the information collected, and who the intended recipients of the information are, and whether the supply of information is required by law or is voluntary, and any consequences to you if the information (or any part of it) is not provided; or alternatively those matters will be obvious from circumstances.

2. We collect personal information from the person themselves wherever possible. If we collect information about an individual from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is made aware of the matters stated in clause 1.

3. We collect only information which we need for the performance and primary function of our video production and photography business.

4. The personal information that we collect on individuals may include but not limited to: your name, your contact details including your email, home address, and billing address, your payment details, and other personal information that we collect in the course of a transaction or that you provide to us when you contact us.

5. In relation to personal information which has been collected from you, Little Corner Pictures uses the personal information for direct marketing, where you would reasonably expect it to be used for this purpose, and we have provided an opt out and the opt out has not been taken up.

6. In each direct marketing communication with you, Little Corner Pictures draws to your attention, or prominently displays a notice, that you may express a wish not to receive any further marketing communications.

7. Little Corner Pictures allows people from whom the personal information is being collected to not identify themselves or use a pseudonym unless it is impracticable to deal with them on this basis.

Use and Disclosure

8. We use and disclose your personal information only for the primary purpose for which it was collected, or for a directly related purpose where you would reasonably have expected us to use it or disclose it for that directly related purpose. We may otherwise, use and disclose your personal information if you have given us consent for the use or disclosure or it is required or authorised by law.

In order to give consent, one must have the capacity to give or withhold consent. If they do not have the capacity to understand the general nature and effect of a proposed use or disclosure of their personal information, or cannot communicate their consent, Little Corner Pictures either does not collect their personal information, or does so by asking their parent or guardian to consent on their behalf.

9. Little Corner Pictures can release information to third parties where it is requested by the person concerned. 

Storage

10. We keep the collected personal information secure against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, interference, unauthorised modification or disclosure by use of various methods including locked storage of paper records and passworded access rights to computerised records.

11. Before we disclose any personal information to a recipient including a provider of IT services such as servers or cloud services, we establish that they are privacy compliant.

Destruction and de-identification

12. When no longer required, personal information is destroyed in a secure manner or deleted, or personal information is changed to a pseudonym or treated anonymously if required by the person whose information Little Corner Pictures holds. In many circumstances, however, it will be kept for marketing purposes, as you will have consented to that in writing with us.

13. We will take reasonable steps to ensure the information we collect is accurate, complete, up to date, and relevant to the functions we perform. You may seek to update your personal information held by us at any time by contacting us.

Transparency

14. We ensure you are aware of our privacy policy and its purposes.

15. We make this information available on our website.

16. On request by a person, Little Corner Pictures must take reasonable steps to let the person know, generally, what sort of personal information it holds, for what purposes, and how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information. To make a request to access any information we hold about you, please contact us in writing.

Your Audio, Video and Photographs

18. In your contract, you will be provided with the terms and conditions of our services and process of recording, storing and using your audio, photo and video.

19. Little Corner Pictures may review and update this privacy policy from time to time to take account of new laws and technology, changes to our operations and practices.

20. Our Privacy Policy assumes that you are resident in Australia. If you are not, please contact us for more information regarding how we treat your personal information.

21. If you would like further information about the way Little Corner Pictures manages the personal information it holds, please contact us. If you have any concerns, complaints or you think there has been a breach of privacy, then also please contact us. We will discuss your issues usually first over the phone. If we then have not dealt satisfactorily with your concerns, we will meet with you to discuss further. If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint within 30 days from this meeting, then you can refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner on 1300 363 992.
